Plaintiff, previously suffered serious back injury resulting in surgery, was walking to the restroom at 1:45 a.m. Pool hall owner mopped the floor in the hallway to the restroom and propped the slippery when wet sign up against the bathroom door to hold it open. The bathroom door closed and hid the warning sign from plaintiff. When plaintiff entered the hallway he slipped. It was discovered at deposition the owner used a gross amount of cleaning solution making the floor 10x more slick than had a usual amount been used. The plaintiff required additional back surgery. $600,000.00 settlement for Plaintiff.
