Attorney Lenore Shefman is a native born Texan. She represents people and their loved ones who have been seriously hurt or injured by others negligence. Lenore is a successful personal injury trial lawyer trying cases in both Austin, Texas and Northern California. Attorney Shefman has been admitted to Practice by the Supreme Court of Texas; The Supreme Court of California; The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; The United States District Court, Northern District; and The United States District Court for the Eastern District. Attorney Shefman is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, The Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association, and the State Bars of California and Texas. Lenore Shefman is also a member of Bike Austin, The Austin Cycling Association, and an active board member for Bike Texas.

Practicing since 2000 in California and 2006 in Texas she has never lost a jury trial. She is the fierce granddaughter of attorney and trial lawyer Benjamin Shefman, and the extra fierce Lillian Shefman.

In 1987, Lenore joined the US Coast Guard where she was a search and rescue seaman and maritime law enforcement officer until her honorable discharge in 1989. After performing search and rescue operations off the Gulf Coast of Texas with the Coast Guard, Lenore attended Texas State University, formerly Southwest Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas.

In 1993, she graduated with a Bachelors in Social Work. As the first school social worker hired directly by the Austin Independent School District, Lenore developed and implemented an alternative high school-within-a-school, created social and educational programs for urban youth, their families and the local communities of Austin, Texas. She was the Co-Chair of the National Association of Social Workers, Texas Committee for School Social Work, and she was a co-founder of the American Association of School Social Workers.

During law school, Lenore clerked for the Office of the State Public Defender working to preserve the rights of inmates alive on San Quentin’s death row. As a clerk she contributed to several habeas corpus briefs and utilized her background in social work to develop a social history for a client at San Quentin. Whether as a social worker or lawyer, Lenore’s work is compelled by a passion for creating change.

Today, Lenore resides in Austin, Texas and the practice is centrally located on Judge’s Hill down the street from the court house. Lenore’s politics are key to her practice. She fights for the rights of those who are underrepresented in our society, including vulnerable road users.

Since 2000 Lenore has been working with plaintiffs who have been injured or harmed by others negligence. She also has volunteered her time with the Homeless Advocacy Projects providing legal assistance to those who have been completely disenfranchised. Lenore has provided 5% of her attorneys fees in each bike and/or motorcycle crash case to a bike or motorcycle safety and advocacy organization.

For eight years, Lenore was general counsel for small businesses working to legitimize and create measures to locally legalize medical marijuana for several corporate clients in the Bay Area. Lenore has provided small business legal solutions to Medical Cannabis Dispensaries, Medical Clinics, Restaurants, Auto-Body Repair Shops, Financial Lending Institutions, Motion Picture Equipment Dealers, and various others.

Today she focuses most of her practice on various aspects of personal injury law, including bicycle accidents and injury, slip and fall cases, motorcycle accidents and injury, dog bite injury cases, DWI crashes, car and truck accidents and injuries, swimming pool injuries, boating accidents, and drowning incidents. For fun, Lenore enjoys spending time with her daughter, riding her Harley Davidson 883 motorcycle, her classic 1970 Honda CR 70 Trail Bike, mountain bike and road riding, swimming, snow and wakeboarding and life outdoors.
